This event will be with a 30-minute guide.

Remembering is the first solo institutional exhibition of Arpita Singh outside India, featuring key works from her prolific six-decade career. Drawing from Bengali folk art, Indian stories, and personal memories, Singh’s paintings blend Surrealism, figuration, and abstraction to explore themes of motherhood, femininity, vulnerability, and conflict. Her work reflects both deeply personal experiences and larger social upheavals, weaving together domestic life with historical events and urban landscapes.

The exhibition traces Singh’s luminous practice from the 1960s to today, showcasing her large-scale oil paintings alongside intimate watercolours and ink drawings. Through layered compositions and intricate details, Singh captures the emotional and psychological landscape of women navigating both inner and external worlds.
