Join us for a visit to the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden, a unique and magical landscape with lush planting, designed by landscape designer Anthony Paul. It includes a water and rock garden, many large leaved plants in bold groups and 3 ponds. Artist come from across Britain and Europe to exhibit their works in these breathtaking surroundings, allowing their 200 sculptures to be seen in a whole new and harmonious way.
We will be travelling from Victoria to Dorking (1 hour). Taxis will take us to the Sculpture Garden, where we will be met by the curator with hot refreshments. After a short talk, she will take us on a tour of the exhibition. We will have the whole park to ourselves on that day!
Afterwards, taxis will take us to Denbies Wine Estate, where we will have a café lunch. Denbies is England’s largest vineyard and is nestled in the North Surrey Hills, an area of outstanding beauty, with magnificent views of the surrounding area including Box Hill, which is very close by.
After lunch, you can either book a 50 min. wine tasting tour or a 50 min. train tour round the vineyard.
Alternatively, a one hour, self-guided walk through the vineyard will take us along a scenic route with wonderful views over the hills back to Dorking station. However there are also shorter walks with views or we can walk the direct route back to the station in 15 minutes.
The ticket is for the guided tour of the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden. Taxis (approximately £30 each way) will be shared, lunch and train ticket (£12.20 return) will be your own responsibility. Wine tasting (indoor tour £16.95 ) or vineyard train tour (outdoor tour £16.95). Places for the Denbies tours, if desired, should be booked asap. to guarantee a place for 3 pm.
